The Dr. Renee Allen Foundation, founded in 2025, was established to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Renee Allen, an influential leader, advocate, and media trailblazer whose impact was felt deeply throughout the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) and beyond.

OUR MISSION: To empower youth by providing impactful mentorship, access to educational resources, and scholarship opportunities that highlight the value of trade schools as powerful pathways to success.

 

OUR GOAL: To equip the next generation with financial support, confidence, tools, and opportunities to succeed and lead with impact. By investing in future changemakers, we foster a legacy of service, empowerment, and transformation.​​

 Sonya Fraser, Founder and Executive Director

​

Sonya Fraser has spent over three decades serving her community with compassion, purpose, and unwavering dedication. Her journey in advocacy began at a young age and has grown into a lifelong mission to uplift and empower others, especially young women and men. From mentoring teens and feeding the homeless to delivering essentials to nursing home residents, Sonya leads with action and heart.

​

She currently serves as Vice President of the Zonta Club of Baltimore Metropolitan, where she helps advance initiatives that support women, children, and families through advocacy, education, and service. Her leadership is driven by a deep belief in community, connection, and the power of mentorship to create real change.

Sonya continues this work in honor of her beloved sister, Dr. Renee Allen, a trailblazer whose legacy of advocacy, empowerment, and service lives on through the foundation that bears her name. Inspired by Dr. Allen’s bold spirit, Sonya is committed to guiding the next generation, helping young women and men find their voice, realize their potential, and thrive.
